HABITS AND MEDICATIONS BEFORE THE SURGERY
Usually we indicate an antibiotic previous to the surgery with the purpose of decrease the incidence of infections; it is also recommended to stop taking the medications that may interfere with the coagulation such as, aspirins, ibuprofen, naxen, advil; this are medications called AAINES, as well as vitamins that aren’t indicated by any doctor, also avoid drinking black tea two weeks before the procedure. It has been shown that smoking, nicotine and other toxins present in the smoke of tobacco, it produces vasoconstriction (decreasing of the circulation), that’s why we request the suspension of it for 2 to 4 weeks.

We always request lab exams (blood and urine) to know the health condition of our patient, also we ask for an EKG (valoration of the heart), we do this as a routine on our patients over 40 years old, also in patients under that age that have a disease.
Is important that the patient doesn’t eat 8 hours prior to the surgery to have an empty stomach and reduce the possibility of vomit or bronchoaspiration.
We prefer that all our patients have a lymphatic drainage before the surgery. It improves the lymph or the liquid between the cells and eliminates the toxins easier. When a patient is overweight it is better that they reduce the body fat, this way the surgical risks are less and the results are going to be better.
ANESTHESIA
We use sedation (tranquilizers in the veins) regional anesthesia on the area to be treated with epidural anesthesia.
TIME OF SURGERY
Two to four hours.
STAYING AT THE HOSPITAL
Generally Twenty four hours. In some cases, patients request to stay over twenty four hours which is completely acceptable. Please ask staff for extra charges.

PROCEDURES THAT CAN BE COMBINED
The liposuction can be made as a complementary technique before or after the abdominoplasty in the pubic area, abdomen, waist, hips. The reparation of hernias is a very common procedure at the time we perform abdominoplasty surgery.
MEDICATION USED IN THE PROCEDURE
Before the surgery we provide oral tranquilizers, as well to prevent nauseas, vomit and allergies. After surgery antibiotics, anti inflammatory and analgesics are going to be prescribed.
LAST GENERATION LASER
The rejuvenation of the skin with NOVADOIDE laser allows us to treat wrinkles from face and neck as well as spots caused by sun damage. There are two types of aging, chronologic caused by the course of time and photo aging in which the wrinkles are formed due to the damaged caused by the ultraviolet radiation. The laser sends a light stimulating the production of new elastin and collagen fibers and fills the wrinkles. This laser works from inside to outside without causing any harm to the surface of the skin. There is no need to use general anesthesia, only anesthetic cream and ice.
